Courtney Wise: Courtney first hired Turk to help her with her personal dog Bella. While Courtney was a dog trainer for a big box store she was not successful in rehabilitating Bella’s dog & people aggression. By then Courtney had received help from multiple other trainers without any result.  This was the beginning of her journey with Off Leash Dog Training.  Courtney and Bella successfully completed the Ultimate Facility training and they could finally go out in public without having to avoid dogs and people, SUCCESS!

After a few more years of working at the big box store and seeing first hand some of the limitations of generalized treat only group training, Courtney called Turk to join his team.

“I saw the stress in my life, and my dog’s life from the aggression. I constantly debated re-homing her, but I knew if I didn’t help her, nobody else would. I see how much training made a difference in our lives which is why I wanted to work for Off Leash.  Every person should enjoy their dog.” says Courtney.

Courtney has been training for 7 years and has two dogs, Bella, a German Shepherd and Boxer mix, and Berkeley a Australian Shepherd. She enjoys spending her free time with her son Mason, outdoors riding horses and hiking with her dogs.

Our Philosophy

The best way to describe our philosophy about dog training is summed up in our 2 slogans.

Our dogs are family™ and Train as you live ™

We believe we must first respect our dogs innate wisdom and needs, as a dog, not a furry small human.

We want our relationship and communication with our dogs to be one between friends with different roles and responsibilities, rather than boss and employee.   Yes, it is true we the humans are higher than dogs on the food chain, but this in no way means that dogs are less than us.

Just as in any group, there are roles and responsibilities for each member of the family. At Off Leash Dog Training, we believe that the humans’ responsibilities are:

  1.  to keep our dog safe
  2.  to allow our dog to be more like a dog

Our vision is a world where people take their dogs with them where ever they go.
