Turk Akbay:  founder of Off Leash Dog Training is a licensed professional dog trainer .  As a life coach turned dog trainer his unique approach of “Seeking balance first in our relationship with our dogs” comes naturally and sets him apart from many conventional dog trainers.

He has trained hundreds of dog owners in Charlotte, NC  to have an exceptional relationship with their dogs.  Turk has 3 dogs a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Djembe, a Flat Coated Retriever mix named Seven , and a Vizsla named Zilli.  He is an active supporter of local no kill shelters and rescue organizations.

He is a regular guest as Carolina’s Dog Master in WCNC36 Charlotte Today Show and is currently working on a new book.

Turk is  a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers as well as the International Association of Canine Professionals.

Brittany & Lambeau

Brittany: Brittany started her experience with Off Leash Dog Training as a customer with her rescue Pug/Australian Cattle Dog Lambeau (Go Packers!). After Lambeau escaped from the car at a gas station on the side of a highway and nearly got hit by several cars, she knew she needed help. That’s when she called Turk. A few lessons later Lambeau was able to be trusted completely off leash and not causing Brittany anymore heart attacks!

After Brittany graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education she saw an opportunity to become a trainer with Off Leash Dog Training.  Although she loved teaching kids, dogs were cuter and much less sticky, so she jumped at the opportunity to work with dogs all day and help others like she was helped.

When Brittany is not training dogs she enjoys spending cuddle time with Lambeau and her new pup Toonie, playing disc golf, watching reality TV, reading books, and getting caught in the rain.

Andrew & Max

Andrew: Andrew begun his dog training career by first volunteering at Humane Society of Cleaveland, OH in 2001. After moving to Charlotte he continue his dog training by working for another dog training company for a few years, then starting his dog training company in Cornelius area.
